Bodywarmers and gilets

A bodywarmer or gilet adds a sleeveless layer while leaving your arms free to move. Compare the cut with the tops you wear to work, checking that the arm openings and hem remain comfortable when you reach, bend or sit.

Look at pocket positions, fastening and how much room remains beneath an outer jacket. The amount and type of insulation, fabric and care instructions vary between products, so use the details for the exact style. A standard work gilet should not be treated as protective clothing unless its documentation supports the required use.

Build a practical combination with thermal base layers and work jackets, allowing enough room for each layer.
